We haven’t seen the end of Bosch, as there is an exciting update about the future of the franchise. If you were already tired of vigilantes and justice seekers being completely ignored by the law, Bosch has to be your way to go.
Looking back at past events, Bosch debuted in 2014 and lasted seven seasons, then was awarded a spin-off which definitely delivered.
The original show had an IMDb rating of 8.5, and its spinoff series Bosch: Legacy managed to hold the same numbers. Now, as we await another spin-off, it is definitely building some major hype.
The upcoming spin-off focuses on Renée Ballard, a prominent character from several novels, as she establishes an underfunded cold case division in the LAPD, comprised of volunteers.
Tasked with Los Angeles’ heaviest caseload, Ballard navigates the challenges of solving old cases with limited resources, setting the stage for some interesting investigations.
Head of AVOD originals at Amazon MGM, Lauren Anderson, stated, “From books to screen, Michael Connelly creates authentic and suspenseful stories, led by distinctive characters who make audiences care and connect. Renée Ballard is one of those characters.”
Later, she added, “She instantly captivated readers with hints of a troubled past and a protective layer of idiosyncrasies she developed to survive. We look forward to expanding the Bosch universe with Michael and introducing viewers to Ballard’s personal approach to pursuing justice.”
We still have no target release window, but you can expect an early 2025 release. It might even push to a mid-2025 release, but there’s no official update anyway. Prime Video was definitely intelligent while capturing the spin-off; it will undoubtedly continue the legacy.
