Prime Video’s adaptation of Bethesda’s Fallout video game series is receiving positive reviews from critics and viewers following the show’s release on the streaming platform. The newly released creation of Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy takes place in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, shaped by a devastating nuclear war and a retrofuturistic society. The remaining survivors reside in fallout bunkers called ‘Vaults’. After a long wait of 219 years, a young woman leaves behind her home in Vault 33 to explore the hostile, brutal, unforgiving, and savage wasteland of a destroyed LA.
Early reactions towards the Fallout series have hailed Walton Goggins as the real MVP of the show. Ella Purnell’s performance in the series has also received praise from critics. Goggins portrays Cooper Howard, aka The Ghoul, who transforms into an undying mutant due to the nuclear bombings. On the other hand, Purnell leads the show as Lucy MacLean, a young Vault Dweller.
Critics have also praised Nolan’s gripping direction and faithfulness to the source material. On Rotten Tomatoes, the series has earned a ‘fresh’ critic score of 92%, based on 36 reviews.
Apart from Walton Goggins and Ella Purnell, Fallout stars talents like Aaron Moten (Maximus), Kyle MacLachlan (Hank MacLean), Mike Doyle (Mr. Spencer), Moises Arias (Norm MacLean), Johnny Pemberton (Thaddeus), Cherien Dabis (Birdie), and more. For Indian viewers, the show will arrive on Prime Video on April 11, 6:30 AM IST. Stay tuned for more updates. Check out some of the early reactions to the show below!
Boasting a strong story, characters, a pristine take on the Fallout universe, Amazon’s #Fallout once again raised the bar for what a video game adaptation can look like.

#FalloutOnPrime is a deceptively solid adaptation of the hit video games: Droll without reaching DEADPOOL levels of irreverence, violent without seeming excessive, and sufficiently cynical about man's ability to avoid blowing itself up. For @consequence: https://t.co/YZ4N4gFIrv

The Amazon Prime @Fallout is so good. I loved every minute of it. Even if I had some very minor complaints, I adored the story. Plus Walton Goggins absolutely played a blinder as The Ghoul.https://t.co/ozcLAbgIgF
