Fallout isn’t falling out anytime soon as Prime Video renews it for season 2, this time officially. Regarding the online reception of the new live adaptation of the beloved video game, it has risen like a phoenix, with time getting even better reviews.
Prior to the official confirmation, there were rumors floating around regarding the renewal of Fallout. The show was offered a $25M tax credit for relocating filming from New York to California, but there was no official statement.
However, after its week-long run, Prime Video now confirms that they have more to tell; they’ve greenlit season 2.
Talking about their official statement, Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios, narrated, “Jonah, Lisa, Geneva, and Graham have captivated the world with this ground-breaking, wild ride of a show. The bar was high for lovers of this iconic video game, and so far we seem to have exceeded their expectations, while bringing in millions of new fans to the franchise.”
She later added, “The cast led by Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, and Kyle MacLachlan have knocked it out of the park. We’d like to thank Jonah and Lisa and our friends at Bethesda for bringing the show to us, as well as Geneva and Graham for coming aboard as showrunners. We are thrilled to announce season two after only one week out and take viewers even farther into the surreal world of Fallout.”
This step was definitely inevitable as Fallout needs to be Prime Video’s version of The Last Of Us, especially with such a good reception of the show, and being backed by both regular audiences and video game fans; this was surely destiny.
There is no official release date for the third season of the show, but it should target a late 2025 release at least.
