Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming comedy series, I’m a Virgo, has received a release window. The show will arrive on the streaming platform on June 23.
Prime Video has dropped one of the show’s clips, titled ‘Cootie’s First Time Outside’, which also shows the release date in the end. Check out the clip below!
Created by Boots Riley, ‘I’m a Virgo’ stars Jharrel Jerome. He plays the protagonist, Cootie, a young Black man with a freaking height of 13 feet. His aunt and uncle protect him from the outside world because of his immense size. Things start going crazy after a group of teenage political activists accidentally discover him.
The latest clip shows Cootie leaving his house for the first time. He covers his entire body with leaves to hide. After taking a good look at the beautiful night sky, he finds a group of teenagers sitting on wooden benches. He hides behind the trees. One of the guys from that group comes near him to take a piss as he believes that Cootie is a real tree. This forces Cootie to flee from the scene, leaving that teen boy in a state of confusion.
The show’s first four episodes premiered at this year’s South by Southwest film festival, receiving critical praise for its unique storyline, ambitious tone, amazing performances, and moving messages.
Apart from Jharrel Jerome, ‘I’m a Virgo’ stars Mike Epps, Carmen Ejogo, Walton Goggins, Brett Gray, and Kara Young. It will release on Prime Video on June 23. Stay tuned for more updates.
