Prime Video has a slew of original films in its slate, both released as well as upcoming. Not all of Prime Video’s original films have hit the sweet spot as far as audience appreciation is concerned. However, the rest of 2022 will see some truly interesting films coming up on Prime Video, starting this Friday, which is 30th September.
Prime Video is all set to release its latest original film ‘My Best Friend’s Exorcism‘ on September 30 on its platform worldwide, including in India. The film is a rousing tale of friendship, along with horror and the supernatural. The friendship of two best friends is tested when one of them begins to act weird after a spot of skinny-dipping. Can their friendship overcome what seems to be a case of the girl being possessed by an evil spirit?
The official synopsis of ‘My Best Friend’s Exorcism’ reads, “The year is 1988. High school sophomores Abby and Gretchen have been best friends since fourth grade. But after an evening of skinny-dipping goes disastrously wrong, Gretchen begins to act…different. She’s moody. She’s irritable. And bizarre incidents keep happening whenever she’s nearby. Abby’s investigation leads her to some startling discoveries—and by the time their story reaches its terrifying conclusion, the fate of Abby and Gretchen will be determined by a single question: Is their friendship powerful enough to beat the devil?”
The premise and plot of ‘My Best Friend’s Exorcism’ does sound interesting. The supernatural horror film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Grady Hendrix. The film stars Elsie Fisher, Amiah Miller, Cathy Ang, Rachel Ogechi, Cynthia Evans and Christopher Lowell in pivotal roles. It is written by Jenna Lamia, and directed by Damon Thomas. The Prime Video presentation is produced by Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Christopher Landon.
