Prime Video’s much-talked-about mini-series ‘Expats’ has finally got a release date on the platform. The Nicole Kidman starrer will premiere on Prime Video worldwide on 26th January, 2024.
The six-part mini series ‘Expats’ follows the vibrant lives of a close-knit expatriate community: where affluence is celebrated, friendships are intense but knowingly temporary, and personal lives, deaths and marriages are played out publicly—then retold with glee.
The series is created by Lulu Wang, and is adapted from the best-selling 2016 novel ‘The Expatriates’, written by Janice Y. K. Lee. ‘Expats’ stars Nicole Kidman, along with Sarayu Blue (Never Have I Ever, Blockers), Ji-young Yoo (The Sky Is Everywhere, Smoking Tigers), Brian Tee (Chicago Med, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows) and Jack Huston (House of Gucci, Fargo).
The official synopsis of ‘Expats’ reads – “The plot takes place in vibrant and tumultuous Hong Kong in the year 2014, and focuses on the story of three American women: Margaret (Nicole Kidman), Hilary (Sarayu Blue), and Mercy (Ji-young Yoo), who see their lives intersect after a tragedy. The show will discuss the power of privilege and explore what happens when the line between being a victim and being guilty becomes blurred.”
