Prime Video India has just dropped the first teaser of sorts for its upcoming series ‘Poacher’. The crime drama series premieres on Prime Video on 23rd February, 2024.
Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt introduces audiences to the world of ‘Poacher’ in the short 1-minute teaser. For those who don’t know Alia Bhatt has come on board Poacher as executive producer. She is seen inspecting a crime scene in the middle of the jungle, where apparently a murder has taken place.
As she gives details of the murder, the camera pans to the outline of the dead body of the victim. And we realise the murder Alia Bhatt is detailing is the killing of an elephant by poachers, deep in the thick jungles of South India. The caption accompanying the teaser reads – “A crime against the voiceless is still a crime! after all, murder is murder”
The short teaser, with the creepy revelation at the end of it, is well-made and arresting. Given that Poacher comes from Richie Mehta, the teaser heightens hopes that Prime Video’s ‘Poacher’ will be as good, if not better, as Netflix’s ‘Delhi Crime’, also from Richie Mehta.
The series stars Roshan Mathew ( (Kappela, Darlings), Nimisha Sajayan (The Great Indian Kitchen), and Dibyendu Bhattacharya (The Railway Men, Undekhi) in pivotal roles. Richie Mehta has created, written and directed ‘Poacher’.
The series is produced by QC Entertainment, the production and finance company behind Oscar-winning movies, Jordan Peele’s ‘Get Out’ and Spike Lee’s ‘BlacKkKlansman’. Poacher will be the first series ever from QC Entertainment.
