Nearly two years have passed since The Wheel of Time Season 1 ended with a cliffhanger on Prime Video. The debut season culminates with Rand telling Moiraine to tell his friends he died. He wanted to save his loved ones from his dark fate. Whether he truly defeated the Dark One in the finale of Season 1 is still a mystery. So, we should expect Season 2 to give all the answers we need. Speaking of Season 2, Entertainment Weekly has dropped new first-look images of the upcoming instalment, along with revealing its release date. The second season will hit the streaming service on September 1.
The series’ protagonists, led by Moiraine, commenced their journey together in the first season. Now, they are scattered and heavily involved in their own adventures.
Upon learning that he is the Dragon Reborn, Rand decides to go into hiding to save the ones he loves and prevent himself from descending into madness like the previous incarnations of the Dragon. On the other hand, Moiraine has lost her connection with One Power and her emotional bond with her companion and warder, Lan. She must gather other sources of strength to aid Rand and his friends against the Dark One.

The first season of The Wheel of Time covered Robert Jordan’s first novel, The Eye of the World. It means that Season 2 will cover events of the second novel, The Great Hunt. Although, the upcoming entry may cover some storylines from the third novel as well, given that the second season has only eight episodes and there are 14 novels in The Wheel of Time’s novel series.
The Wheel of Time Season 2 stars Rosamund Pike, Daniel Henney, Zoe Robins, Madeleine Madden, Marcus Rutherford, Josha Stradowski, Kate Fleetwood, Sophie Okonedo, and many more. Among the new cast members, we have Donal Finn, who replaces Barney Harris from Season 1 for the character of Mat Cauthon. It will arrive on Prime Video on September 1. Stay tuned for more updates.
