Prime Video’s ‘The Wheel Of Time’ Trailer Is A Stunning Visual Delight

The official trailer for Amazon Prime Video‘s epic fantasy drama series ‘The Wheel Of Time‘ dropped on social media this evening. The first three episodes of the much-awaited Prime Video original series arrive on Friday, November 19, with new episodes available on subsequent Fridays. The season finale will premiere on December 24.

The trailer for ‘The Wheel Of Time’ is a stunning visual spectacle that reveals what the storyline is like. Lavish sets and imposing landscapes add to the mesmerising quality of the scenes featured in the trailer. Rosamund Pike plays Moirraine, a powerful member of the mystical order of female channelers (who can use the power of magic), called the Aes Sedai. She must shepherd five young people from the village of Two Rivers on a perilous journey, to fight the ‘Dark One’, an all-powerful creature who will destroy the world if not stopped in time. One among the five is a reincarnation of an ancient powerful channeler Dragon, who is prophesied to either save or destroy humanity.

The Wheel Of Time trailer gives glimpses of all the primary cast members. We even get a glimpse of Money Heist star Álvaro Morte as Logain Ablar. The show has been mounted on a grand scale. Stunning visuals add to the feeling of grandeur. Magic, mystique and monsters all find place in the montage of shots showcased in the trailer. ‘The Wheel Of Time’ is a tent pole show from Prime Video, which it intends to match “Game Of Thrones” in scale.

The Wheel Of Time is a fantasy series, adapted from Robert Jordan’s book series of the same name. The story is vast and sprawling, with an impressive number of characters included in the fourteen novels that make up the series. The series picks up themes from Hinduism (reincarnation), Islamism (Shaitan or the Devil), Buddhism (cyclical nature of time) and Christianity.

The Wheel of Time is written by Rafe Judkins (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Chuck), who is also the showrunner and executive producer of the series. The sprawling cast of the series includes Sophie Okonedo, as the legendary Amyrlin Seat, Siuan Sanche; Kae Alexander as Min Farshaw; Kate Fleetwood as Liandrin Guirale; Álvaro Morte as Logain Ablar; Peter Franzen as Stepin; Clare Perkins as Kerene Nagashi; Daniel Henney as al’Lan Mandragoran; Madeleine Madden as Egwene Al’Vere; Priyanka Bose as Alanna Mosvani; Marcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybara; Barney Harris as Mat Cauthon; Zoe Robins as Nynaeve; Josha Stradowski as Rand Al’Thor, among a host of others.
