The best part about any building franchise is the rumors floating around it; some will get your hopes up, and some will clearly slap you hard. And Gunn’s Batman is one of those roles now which is the center of attention for all the fans.
“The Brave and the Bold” is on the DC slate and focuses on the Batman-Robin duo; DC can definitely pull off something good.
Talking about the casting rumors, Gunn has been really vocal about it and cleared the fact out that they won’t be engaging themselves in some sort of casting activity unless the script is done. And as per the recent updates, it will still take some time to finish the script.
But, the rumors don’t really look for opportunities as Gunn, prior to all this, already discarded Jensen Ackles playing Batman in “The Brave and the Bold.” After his performance in “The Boys,” he would have been a good shout, having the mixture of stoicism, brutality, and wit.
There is one more contender, who might be a tidy bit stronger than Jensen Ackles.
Prime Video’s “Reacher,” aka Alan Ritchson, is now fancasted for the role of Batman, and he might be a good option.
“The fact that people are interested in me playing Batman is a real honor & privilege. I would absolutely love to play him,” said Ritchson during a podcast.
Later, he added, “Those iconic moments really resonated with me as a child. For there to even be a conversation or a rumor mill surrounding this role, for me… all I can do is laugh. I just think it’s wild that’s where we are.”
Now, personally, he does look a lot promising and has all the traits to nail the role of The Caped Crusader. Obviously, the reality is far from the world of rumors; there is always a minor chance.
