A few hours ago, an unexpected teaser dropped for Shaji Kailas’ upcoming action thriller, ‘Kaduva’. Prithviraj is the lead actor in the film and after recently seeing him in films like ‘Kuruthi‘, ‘Cold Case‘ and ‘Bhramam‘; ‘Kaduva’ is a lot more “old-school” compared to these movies. At least that is what the teaser has shown us so far. Check out this aforementioned promo video for this upcoming 2022 feature film at the end of this article.
While the teaser is barely a minute long, we know what the film is going to be all about, just by the way the promo was shot. The film mainly focuses on Prithviraj, and his movements are heavily stylized. When his back arches, it creaks loudly and the folding of his white mundu is given a close-up, which also gives us a closer look at his gold ring (which has a tiger motif). And in the background, Prithviraj is narrating about the old and new testaments.
This film looks to be an old-school, mass entertainer, action thriller film – which the director, Shaji Kailas, is really good at making. He has made many hits from this genre, the main ones being ‘Aaraam Thampuran’, ‘Commissioner’, ‘The King’ and ‘Narasimham’. While we do not know how ‘Kaduva’ will fare, Prithviraj has managed to leave us with a convincing “mass feel” for the film, in the short clip. We will know more about the film as the trailer drops. Which we hope will happen sooner rather than later.
‘Kaduva‘ is expected release in theatres by 2022. No official release date has been confirmed as of yet.
