The trailer for the highly anticipated Mohanlal-Prithviraj starrer, ‘Bro Daddy’, dropped yesterday and it has fans very excited. With the film premiering directly for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar in a couple of weeks, this promo has dropped at the right time. However, many seem to forget that Prithviraj will also be directing this movie. This film will be his first OTT premiering directorial and that is going to set a new Malayalam OTT record.
‘Bro Daddy’ is the first (and only) Malayalam direct-to-OTT premiering movie where one of the film leads, Prithviraj, will also be directing the feature film. This means, not only is this film a personal record for the actor-director, he will also be setting a new Malayalam OTT record with the Antony Perumbavoor film. And after Prithviraj‘s first directorial, ‘Lucifer’, fans can’t wait to see what he has in store for us.
Coincidentally, Prithviraj’s second directorial, ‘Bro Daddy’, will also have Mohanlal leading as well as Antony Perumbavoor producing, exactly like his first directorial outing, ‘Lucifer’. While we do not know if that is the “magical formula”, the trio did manage to produce the first Malayalam film to cross Rs. 200 crores in the international box office – another Malayalam film record. So we shouldn’t be surprised if this upcoming Disney+Hotsar releasing film becomes another “super-hit” feature.
Mohanlal and Prithviraj will not be the only stars featuring in this movie – ‘Bro Daddy’ will also feature Meena, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Lalu Alex, Kaniha, Jagadish, Soubin Shahir, Mallika Sukumaran, Unni Mukundan, Murali Gopy, Nikhila Vimal, Kavya Shetty, Jaffar Idukki and Sijoy Varghese in various leading and supporting roles.
