Prithviraj Sukumaran’s upcoming movie Gold is now planning for its theatrical release on the 2nd of December this year. The movie was previously slated for Pongal release which would have been during September. But it got postponed due to post production delays and various other reasons.
‘Gold’ is directed by Alphonso Puthren and stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara in lead roles. Chemban Vinod Jose, Roshan Mathew, Shanthi Krishna, Mallika Sukumaran are also in different important roles. Gold is produced by Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames. It will be a Malayalam comedy drama with the music of Rajesh Murugesan. Alphonso Puthren is famous for writing and directing movies like ‘Premam’, ‘Ithu Premamo’, ‘Aviyal’ etc.
‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ is going to have its theatrical release on the 16th of December. And Gold will have two long weeks of sold tickets already run before its release. There are no major releases during that time and this will be good for the movie. Also South Indian audiences will most probably focus more on this than Avatar and other releases. The Avatar sequel actually is a threat for business, but if ‘Gold’ is able to gain positive responses in the first two weeks, its business will successfully run even after that as the Christmas vacation will be coming.
It will be a great movie to watch during the Christmas season, and it is actually one of the most anticipated films of this year. Fans of Prithiviraj, Nayanthara and Alphonso eagerly wait for the film and the official announcement of the release date.
