Prithviraj Sukumaran’s ‘Gold’ will have its digital premiere on the 29th of December this year. It will be released on Amazon Prime Video. It is a Malayalam language comedy drama and is written and directed by filmmaker Alphonso Puthren. The movie is edited by him too. The music of the movie is given by Rajesh Murugesan, just like other movies by Alphonso and the music is worth listening to.
‘Gold’ stars Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role as the character of Joshi. Additional cast includes actors like Nayanthara, Deepti Sati, Roshan Mathew, Ajmal Ameer, and Suresh Krishna in important roles. The filmmaker too is acting in one of the roles. Alphonso Puthren is famous for making films like ‘Premam’, ‘Neram’, ‘Aviyal’, and Paattu’.
‘Gold’ tells the story of a mobile shop owner, Joshi S. Kunjan who buys a new car. But Joshi and his mother find an old pickup truck instead of the car on the delivery day. The car was filled with portable speakers. Joshi complains to the police but the police are of no avail. Joshi later finds out that the portable speakers are not actually speakers but are bars of gold. The story follows with humor and twists after that.
The movie has got a lot of positive reviews from critics as well as audiences, there are some negative reviews about the movie as well. But it is definitely worth a watch. So if you have missed watching it in theaters, make sure to watch it online when it comes to Amazon Prime Video on December 29.
