Second instalment of Mani Ratnam’s epic drama ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ is now available for rent on Amazon Prime Video. The grand historical drama is streaming on rent in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
While English subtitles are there, the unavailability of Hindi audio comes as a surprise for the viewers in the north who have been eagerly waiting for PS2 to come to OTT.
The theatrical release for PS2 occurred simultaneously for all languages, so making the viewers wait for one category language when it comes to digital premiere seems a bit unfair.
‘Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1’ was more of a character introduction and served as a build up of the second part. This latest sequel reveals the main plot, serving as a grand affair for the viewers.
The multiple cliffhanger ending of the first part had left the viewers curious to know what happens in part two. Although many believe that PS2 could not match PS1, it still received praises for direction, music, visuals, performances of the cast and a satisfying conclusion to the saga, upon its theatrical release.
