Mythri Movie Makers, the production house behind the biggest upcoming Telugu films Pushpa and Sarkaru Vaari Paata, are deeply disturbed by the recent leaks of content from both films. The film studio has now filed a case with the cyber crime cell over the content leaks.
Both Pushpa and Sarkaru Vaari Paata launched promo content within days of each other. And the promo content of both films was leaked hours before their official launch. The films feature two of the biggest stars of Tollywood, Allu Arjun in the former, and Mahesh Babu in the latter.
Mythri Movie Makers had planned the elaborate launch of the first teaser of Sarkaru Vaari Paata in the morning of 9th August, on the occasion of Mahesh Babu’s birthday. However, the teaser was leaked on social media on the previous night itself, forcing Mythri to officially launch the Sarkaru Vaari Paata teaser before midnight on 8th August.
The situation is even more dire in Pushpa’s case. Mythri launched its first single last week, on 13th August. Again, the single was leaked hours before the official launch. As it that wasn’t enough, since yesterday, social media is ablaze with news that almost 45 minutes of the first hour from the film has been leaked. Some say a crucial fight scene from Pushpa has been leaked, and is available to stream on piracy sites.
Pushpa’s star Allu Arjun is reportedly very angry and upset with the purported leaks. He has asked the makers to ban mobile phones on the sets, so that no such incidents take place in the future.
An official statement from Mythri Movie Makers reads, “The recent leaks of the film material of Sarkaru Vaari Paata and Pushpa are condemnable and have deeply disturbed us. It seems some miscreants are taking sadistic pleasure in leaking this content, thereby troubling us as well as killing the excitement and experience for our audience.”
Just a couple of weeks ago, Bollywood film Mimi suffered a massive leak. The Kriti Sanon film was available for streaming on multiple piracy sites four days before release on Netflix and Jio Cinema. Content leaks and piracy are abominable and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms, is what we think.
