Streaming platforms have always been at loggerheads to see which one has the best content to offer to its viewers. You’ll be surprised to know which platform comes out at the top.
According to a recent data study, a compilation of all highly-rated i.e. with an IMDB rating of 8.0 or more are considered from all major streaming platforms. Both licensed and original productions are taken into consideration for the same.
And seeing the results, Netflix is the clear winner. The platform has a whopping 184 licensed shows and 151 original TV series with phenomenal ratings. Meanwhile Amazon Prime lags behind with only 40 original shows but it beats Netflix in the licensing department with 191 shows that are highly rated.
On the far end of the list are Disney+ and Apple TV+ who have only 5 and 3 original shows respectively. A meager number but considering that they’re comparatively new to the space it can be considered a small start.
But let’s take another scenario, what if we remove the quality aspect completely?
Just looking at the original and licensed TV shows produced by all streaming platforms, Amazon Prime shines through. It has an epic 2236 TV shows in total out of which 134 are originals which is a huge plus for the OTT giant.
All is not lost for Netflix just yet because although it doesn’t have the maximum number of TV shows, it does have the maximum number of original series which is 674 in total and another 1275 licensed TV shows which is pretty respectable.
So which platform are you going to be watching next?
