Sports drama film ‘Ghoomer’ is centred on a handicapped girl, who dreams of becoming a cricketer. Deprived of her right hand, she turns adversity into advantage by becoming a left-arm bowler. The makers incorporated the plot into an innovative tagline to go with the motion poster of ‘Ghoomer’ – “Lefty Hai? Left Hi Hai!”. Ingenious!
Stellar actress Saiyami Kher plays the role of the handicapped girl turned left-arm bowler in Ghoomer. Abhishek Bachchan plays her coach in the movie. The Shabana Azmi and Angad Bedi round out the cast of the film. R Balki has written and directed Ghoomer. The film is produced by Hope Productions, the production house co-owned by R Balki and Gauri Shinde.
Ghoomer will premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2023 (IFFM) on August 12. It will release in Indian theatres on 18th August, 2023.
