Director R Balki had announced earlier this year that his next film would be a thriller and feature Dulquer Salmaan in the lead. The director is new to this genre, after having given us films like ‘Cheeni Kum’, ‘Ki and Ka’, ‘Padman’ and ‘Paa’. Get ready folks, coz today we have a further update on this! It has now been confirmed that alongwith Dulquer, the film will see Shreya Dhanwanthary (of ‘Scam 1992’ fame) as the lead actress and will also feature Sunny Deol and in Pooja Bhatt important roles. Well, this is surely one hell of a cast mix and we can’t wait for the first look of the film! The super cute, fresh pairing of Dulquer and Shreya is getting us excited to see how their on-screen chemistry shapes up!
Dulquer Salmaan took to Twitter this evening and shared the update, saying, “Super excited to be a part of the wonderful #RBalkis next with an all time fav superstar #SunnyDeol sir, the lovely and timeless @PoojaB1972 maam and the super talented #ShreyaDhanwanthary ! Blessed to work with these incredible artists. Cannot wait to start filming !”
In an interview with IANS, director Balki said, “After months of waiting, it is exciting to start shooting anything. And to make a film in a genre that I haven’t attempted before is even more exciting. I have had the idea for a long time but never quite got around to writing it, and while it’s fundamentally a thriller, it banks so much on these four stunning performers. I just can’t wait to get into the edit room.”
Talking fondly of Dulquer, he said, “Dulquer is possibly one of the most charming actors in Indian cinema today, and even though I cannot say much about his role except at this point, I am really looking forward to his distinct and cool interpretation of it.” The ‘Shamitabh’ director also mentioned that he was excited to work with Sunny Deol and see what their collaboration brings to the table. He further added that post seeing Shreya Dhanwanthary in ‘Scam 1992’ and ‘The Family Man’, he definitely knew that he wanted to work with her. On working with Pooja Bhatt, Balki said that he was mighty impressed with her performance in the recent Netflix series ‘Bombay Begums’ and called her one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood.
