As promised, we got an announcement regarding Telugu Superstar Prabhas’ upcoming movie, which turned out to be a small teaser and a release date pronouncement. The romantic drama is supposed to be another Prabhas epic which will take us around the globe in this whirlwind romance. The movie was shot in Hindi and Telugu simultaneously and is also expected to release in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam as well. This will be Prabhas’ first time returning to the romance film genre after 10 years.
The short, barely-one minute teaser trailer starts off by taking us to a brilliant landscape featuring an amazing shot of a lake and trees, which looks like a place in Europe (the movie was shot in Georgia and Italy, so it makes sense), as a train passes through this amazing scenery. We then cut to a scene where Prabhas is jumping up and down on a train platform (literally) as he tries to grab the attention (he grabs the attention of every other person there) of the leading lady from the film – Pooja Hegde.
The teaser then cuts to our final scene, where Pooja askes Prabhas, “Are you trying to be Romeo?” to which he replies, “No. He died for love. I wouldn’t do that”. We do not know if that was supposed to be romantic or ironic, but the line did bring a slight chill down a few of our backs. If this is foreshadowing of some kind, it would be a bit too early to show, especially in this short teaser trailer.
Radhe Shyam is expected to have a budget somewhere between Rupees 250 and 350 crore (Rupees 2.5 – 3.5 Billion), which will make it the third most expensive Telugu movie to be made, beating Bahubali 2: The Conclusion and behind the upcoming RRR and 2019’s Saaho (which also features Prabhas). This Pan-Indian, multilingual film will be directed by Radha Krishna Kumar.
Radhe Shyam will drop in theaters around the world on 30th July 2021. Check out the teaser down below:
