For the past couple of days, there have been several reports claiming that Prabhas and Pooja Hegde starrer, Radhe Shyam will be arriving directly on OTT. A few Bollywood tabloids even reported that the makers of Radhe Shyam are currently in talks with a few top OTT portals as they try to orchestrate a direct to digital release for the film. Rumors are rife that an OTT giant is ready to offer as much as Rs 500 crores for the direct to digital rights of Radhe Shyam. Now, the makers of Radhe Shyam are facing an embarrassing situation.
The makers of Radhe Shyam are now having to release individual statements, saying the film will be releasing only in theatres. They are having to make the same point again and again. Earlier today, the director of Radhe Shyam, Radha Krishna Kumar tweeted “Wishing the greatest nation in love and culture a Happiest Republic Day #radheshyam in theatres soon.” This is a bid to bog down the OTT release speculations.
Then, a few distributors, who are associated with Radhe Shyam tweeted, saying there is no truth in Radhe Shyam’s OTT release speculations.
Now, a short while ago, Thaman, who recently came on board to compose the background score for the film tweeted “#RadheShyam ONLY IN THEATRES

The situation is so very dire that team Radhe Shyam is having to release multiple updates, saying the film is not arriving directly on OTT. This is surely an embarrassing situation for a film of Radhe Shyam’s scale and magnitude. They are having to affirm multiple times that the film will indeed be releasing in theatres. All this will come to an end only after the makers officially announce the theatrical release date at the earliest.
