“In history the world was dominated by women.
The world ran with reasoning.
But then came a destructive flood…
Matriarchy was not able to even feed the world.
Then came a strange force
Pahadpangira
Who was he? What did he look like? Nobody knows.
With Pahadpangira, Patriarchy was born.
But no man has ever seen Pahadpangira with his own eyes”
Now this is our attempt to translate the version into English. We suggest that if you know Hindi then you must read the premise in Hindi itself as it is far more powerful.
After Sohum Shah decided to make Tumbbad 2 separately, Rahi Anil Barve shared his trilogy plan where the follow-up to Tumbbad is not Tumbbad but a film called Pahadpangira.
The trilogy is basically about dismantling patriarchy and the announcement looks super interesting.
You see, Rahi Anil Barve is one of the most creative directors we have. Yes, we have only seen one film of his but that doesn’t really matter. That one film is totally capable of being part of a canon. Thankfully the re-release of the film made people aware of the greatness it carries and they are now waiting for more projects by the man.
The Gulkanda Tales is a whole series that will be released soon on Prime Video. Then he will get on Rakt Bramhand on Netflix India.
And then comes the chance of Pahadpangira. The premise looks very very exciting. We are pretty sure that it would come out to be a great thing. But, waiting is the only thing we can do.
By the way, Pahadpangira will be released in 2026 according to the existing plan.
