The most anticipated sports drama film in Kollywood released its trailer recently, creating a wave of excitement among fans. Starring Vikranth and Vishnu Vishal in lead roles, with Superstar Rajnikanth featuring in a cameo appearance, ‘Lal Salaam’ is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on February 9 worldwide.
The trailer of ‘Lal Salaam’ hints at the portrayal of religious harmony, addressing a sensitive, societal message on screens. Produced by Subaskara Allirajah of Lyca Productions, musical maestro AR Rahman handles the musical score, with Vishno Rangasamy serving both as co-screenwriter (alongside Aishwarya) and cinematographer.
This film marks director Aishwarya Rajnikath’s comeback after a 7-year hiatus since her last action/thriller film, ‘Vai Raja Vai.’ It would be unfair not to use her father’s dialogue, “Thirumbi vanthuten nu sollu!”
Rajnikanth seems to play the role of a peacemaker in the film in his cameo. Featuring Jeevitha, KS Ravikumar, and Thambi Ramaiah in supporting roles, ‘Haryana Hurricane’ Kapil Dev will also make a cameo appearance. Guess we will have 2 superstars in one film this time!
Recently, ‘Lal Salaam’ had its audio launch on January 26 at a college in Chennai. During the event, AR Rahman revealed that he initially felt the film to be ‘cringey and preachy,’ fearing it might be ‘boring.’ However, he admits he was surprised after ‘Lal Salaam’ was made, especially with Rajinikanth’s contribution to the dialogues.
With many icons being featured on and behind the screen, ‘Lal Salaam’ is a perfect pitch for talent and is rightly batting the audience’s hearts for sure.
