Akshay Kumar is one of the busiest and most committed actors and even the pandemic cannot act as a deterrent to fulfilling his commitments. The superstar earlier today took to Twitter to announce the filming wrap of his upcoming family drama film ‘Rakshabandhan’ and posted behind-the-scenes set photos. The film is being helmed by gifted filmmaker Anand L. Rai and will also feature Bhumi Padnekar besides four fresh faces namely Sadia Khateeb, Smrithi Srikanth, Sahejmeen Kaur, and Deepika Khanna.
In two different Tweets, Akshay Kumar praised the film’s director, called him a ‘wizard’, and the humble person that the actor is, said that he was leaving the film’s set as a better actor. He informed that the Mumbai schedule of ‘Rakshabandhan’ has been concluded. The actor also made us aware that a make-believe set was created for the film to replicate the Chandni Chowk area of Delhi.
The film’s title suggests that the story might be related to the titular festival about the unique and pure brother-sister bond. This year, the festival of Rakshabandhan will be celebrated on Sunday, 22md August. However, the film cannot be released on the festival date for obvious reasons.
Besides ‘Rakshabandhan’, Akshay Kumar will also feature in Anand L. Rai’s other film ‘Atrangi Re’. Akshay Kumar’s next film is the spy thriller titled ‘Bell Bottom’ whose promotions are in full swing and it’s currently slated for a theatrical release on August 19, 2021. Moreover, the actor’s other upcoming films include ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘Bachchan Pandey’, ‘Prithviraj’, and ‘Ram Setu’, which are currently under different stages of production/release.
Both the films ‘Rakshabandhan’ and ‘Atrangi Re’ are going to be important for Anand L. Rai considering the fact that his last directorial project ‘Zero’ starring Shahrukh Khan was a box office disappointment. Knowing his directorial prowess, the audiences have high hopes for the film.
