Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film ‘Ram Setu’ is in talks for various reasons and while the film is yet to release, director Abhishek Sharma has joined hands with one of its producers Mahaveer Jain for his next venture.
Sharma is set to direct this latest project that is touted to be a thriller drama and is based on the book ‘A Nation To Protect’ by Priyam Gandhi Mody. The film will be set in 2020, the year that will be remembered for the pandemic that brought life to a standstill.
The film will take the audience through India’s response to the pandemic and how it became the ‘pharmacy of the world’. It will map India’s pandemic fight and how the government responded to the crisis.
Abhishek Sharma made his feature directorial debut with the 2010 comedy film ‘Tere Bin Laden’ and went on to make films like ‘The Shaukeens’, ‘Tere Bin Laden: Dead or Alive’, ‘Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran’, ‘The Zoya Factor’, ‘Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari’ and ‘Ram Setu’. On the other hand, in addition to ‘Ram Setu’, Mahaveer Jain’s upcoming production also includes Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Uunchai’.
Coming to their joint project, written and directed by Abhishek Sharma, ‘Ram Setu’ stars Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushrratt Bharuccha and Satya Dev among others. ‘Ram Setu’ is set to release in cinemas this Diwali on 25th October, 2022.
