The new series Rana Naidu is now streaming on Netflix India. The show features two very prominent actors from the Telugu industry namely Venkatesh and Rana Daggubati.
They are playing the father-son duo in the show. Interestingly, Venkatesh is indeed the paternal uncle of Rana Daggubati.
Regardless, both the actors are proficient in Hindi and the show is originally shot in Hindi. Also, it is set in Mumbai where Rana sorts out the problems of various Bollywood celebrities.
Even if you see the overall campaign of the series then it revolves around attracting the Hindi audience. Featuring Janhvi Kapoor, there have been several promos from the show.
So is Rana Naidu struggling between Hindi and Telugu audiences?
We think, no. There is no doubt and there should not be any doubt about the belongingness of the show. The Indian film industry has transcended the language barrier a long ago with several nationwide blockbusters.
Even Rana Daggubati was an important part of Baahubali whose influence on Hindi audiences remains uncontested. Also, Venkatesh has appeared in a few important Hindi films back in the 90s.
Talking about the audience, then it wouldn’t even matter if the dubbing is good. The only thing is, that it shouldn’t be a mess up like Meenakshi Sundareshwar in showing the North Indian perspective of the South Indians. Also, it is a great thing that actors are not restricting themselves to one language or industry as diversity brings fans, viewership, and cinema together.
