Ranbir Kapoor’s ’Shamshera’ Teaser: Rustic Grand Tale Of A Heroic Dacoit

The official teaser of Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Shamshera’ is here and while we only get a little glimpse of the ‘Rockstar’ fame, the teaser itself looks like a grand affair. Helmed by Karan Malhotra, ‘Shamshera’ is all set to hit the theatres on 22nd July, 2022.

‘Shamshera’ teaser is set in the heartland of India during the British rule when Indians were tortured ruthlessly by the foreign forces ruling the land. Everyone including women and children were beaten mercilessly and were left to beg for even for the basic needs like water and food.

But what was worse was that it were their own countrymen in uniforms who were tormenting them. And at the helm of this was Shudh Singh (Sanjay Dutt) who is as merciless, ruthless and sadist as one can be. But then enters the saviour to protect his tribe.

A dacoit by profession and freedom by faith, whose breath is encircled with storm and whose eyes are like that of a flying eagle such is the legend of Shamshera (Ranbir Kapoor) who will rise and save his tribe.

‘Shamshera’ looks grand, epic and has that mass appeal working great with Indian audience at the moment. The Yash Raj banner film is a high octane, larger-than-life entertainer with jaw-dropping action sequences.

While we get a glimpse of Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor, who plays the character of the most desirable and sought-after travelling performer from heartland India in the film, was missing from the teaser.

Directed by Karan Malhotra and written by Jaideep Sahni, ‘Shamshera’ is a period action drama film set in pre-independent India of 1800s and tells the story of a dacoit tribe and their fight for independence during the British rule.

‘Shamshera’ stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor in lead roles. The film is produced by Aditya Chopra under his Yash Raj Films banner. ‘Shamshera’ is set to release in cinemas on 22nd July, 2022.
