Rangayana Raghu’s latest acclaimed Kannada crime drama, Agnyathavasi, is all set for its OTT premiere in India. Directed by Janardhan Chikkanna, the movie was released in theatres on April 11 this year and received a strong critical and audience reception, with particular praise directed towards the work of the leading man.
Agnyathavasi drops on ZEE5 on May 28—yes, in less than a couple of weeks. If you didn’t catch it in theatres, here’s your chance to enjoy it from the comfort of your home.
In the late 1990s, the peaceful village of Nalkeri is disrupted when landlord Srinivasaiah is murdered, a case investigated by the local police officer and farmer, Inspector Govindu (Raghu). His investigation surprisingly connects this crime to an unsolved case from the 1970s, revealing long-held secrets.
The arrival of the village’s first computer by Rohit and Pankaja’s connection to the deceased’s estranged son, Arun, intertwines with the unfolding mystery. A subsequent death further complicates matters, delving into themes of guilt and silence within the village’s unsettling tranquillity and ritualistic undertones.
Prachura P P and Jayalakshmi served as co-producers for the film, which features Rangayana Raghu in the central role. The musical score was composed by Charan Raj, and the cinematography was handled by Advaitha Gurumurthy.
Apart from Rangayana Raghu, Agnyathavasi stars Paavana Gowda, Siddu Moolimani, Sharath Lohitashwa, and Ravishankar Gowda. Stay tuned for more updates.
