Rangers of The New Republic’ Stopped From Development, Months After Gina Carano Axe!

After the success of ‘The Mandalorian‘ TV series, Disney decided to up the ante in their Star Wars production by putting around 10 shows themed around the space opera into development and announcing it during Disney’s Investor Day, back in December. But over 20 hours ago, months after the axing of Gina Carano from the production company, Lucasfilms, one of the aforementioned announced shows titled ‘Star Wars: Ranger of The New Republic‘ has been stopped at development.

Gina Carano made a name for herself as the character ‘Cara Dune’ in the brilliant series, ‘The Mandalorian’. This prompted the Star Wars executives to give her a show of her own, the previously mentioned ‘Star Wars: Rangers of The New Republic’. But due to some of the “controversial” messages, she has been putting up on multiple social media platforms, mainly Twitter, she was promptly let go, a few weeks after the release of the second season of ‘The Mandalorian’.

And now, the series is no longer in development. Which makes sense, as the show was going to be developed around Cara Dune and her participation as a ranger in the New Republic. This is disappointing but it is, what it is. Hopefully, we will get some better news coming out of Lucasfilm camp soon.

Gina Carano however has managed to get on another Disney+ production. She has come on one of the episodes of the reality TV series ‘Running Wild with Bear Gryllis’. This latest season of the adventure reality TV series also features Anthony Mackie, Terry Crews and Keegan Michael-Key.
