Rasika Duggal: The Heroine Of Out of Love Is OTT World’s ‘Next Big Thing’

Out of Love season 2 is almost knocking at the door as it’s releasing this Friday, 30th April on Hotstar VIP. As we still have 48 hours for the season 2 of the beloved revenge drama to go live, we looked into the track record of the leading lady of Out of Love, none other than Rasika Duggal.

For those who are unfamiliar with everything related to Out of Love, here’s a recap for all of you. Out of Love season 1 showcased the life of a young couple Doctor Meera, portrayed by Duggal and Akarsh Kapoor, played by Purab Kohli where both of them dig into a dangerous game of revenge when Meera found out Akarsh was cheating on her behind her back. And now season 2 will pick up after 3 years of the events of season 1 with more twisted storyline and more drama on hand.

Now, let’s focus on Rasika Duggal for a while now. Granted she began her career with below par thriller film Anwar but later climbed the ladder of success slowly with a lot of effective yet blink-and-miss performances in Tahaan, No Smoking, Agyaat, Qissa, Manto etc. where sometimes she got the chance to share screen spaces with acclaimed actors such as Irrfan Khan, Anupam Kher, Sarika, Rahul Bose, Rahul Khanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Victor Banerjee. We believe learning and sharing screen spaces with all these legends have helped Rashika become an extremely powerful actor.

Amongst all these acts, the biggest break happened for her with the OTT revolution in India since 2017-18. In the last 4 years Rasika has established herself one of the most “Go-to” heroines for OTT content s, be it a web series or a direct-to-OTT film. She has been one of the main leads in International Emmy Award winner Delhi Crime and the most popular web series in India, Mirzapur followed by Out of Love, International Emmy Award nominee Made in Heaven and also the BBC mini-series A Suitable Boy. She has also garnered further fame with Disney+ Hotstar’s Dark Comedy feature Lootcase.

Now, going through her career graph, it’s now safe to say that Rasika Duggal is becoming an extremely essential candidate for content in a time when the OTT market is booming. She is currently occupied with Delhi Crime Season 2 and Lord Curzon Ki Haveli opposite Parambrata Chatterjee.

Now if we talk about Out of Love season 2, Duggal herself is extremely optimistic concerning the response of the trailer. Earlier she said, “The response to the trailer of Out Of Love season 2 has been wonderful. The nature of comments has reminded me that Out of Love has a very loyal and involved audience who follows every nuance of the story. Dr. Kapoor drives the narrative of the show and embodying her is always an enjoyable challenge. The second season explores different shades of her and I am excited to see how the audience responds to it.”

So now, to conclude, the way Rasika Duggal is sprinting ahead, we believe in the near future, she will be the frontrunner for the best of the projects in this newly revolutionized world of OTT.
