The trailer for Ravi Tejal’s upcoming film ‘Mr. Bachchan’ is here and it attempts to be an unnecessary massy adaptation of Hindi sleeper hit ‘Raid’ starring Ajay Devgn. ‘Mr. Bachchan’ is helmed by Harish Shankar S and will release in theatres on 15th August, 2024.
The trailer begins with cliche heroic entry of Ravi Teja as Mr. Bachchan who goes on to romance with the female lead full masala movie style. From there the trailer quickly moves to the real deal where Mr. Bachchan, an income tax officer has is ordered to conduct an income tax raid on an influential person.
Enters into scene the protagonist of the film played by Jagapathi Babu and from there starts the altercation between the two as Mr. Bachchan takes his job pretty seriously and isn’t willing to stop until he finds out everything he needs to.
Ajay Devgn’s ’Raid’ was more intense, practical and serious with a very small family angle just to add relevance. As far as ‘Mr. Bachchan’ is concerned it gives more massy vibes with not much realism reflecting through.
An official adaptation of ‘Raid’, ‘Mr. Bachchan’ is directed by Harish Shankar with a story by Ritesh Shah (‘Kahaani’, ‘Pink’, ‘Airlift’, ‘Raid’) and stars Ravi Teja, Bhagyashri Borse, and Jagapathi Babu in prominent roles.
Jointly produced by T. G. Vishwa Prasad, Vivek Kuchibotla, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Abhishek Pathak, and a Kumar Mangat Pathak under People Media Factory, T-Series and Panorama Studios respectively, ‘Mr. Bachchan’ will release in theatres on 15th August, 2024.
