Critically acclaimed romantic musical “West Side Story” has headed to Disney+ Hotstar on 2nd March 2022. This ravishing recreation by Steven Spielberg has been quite in the frontrunners during the academy awards 2022 nominations. Being an adaptation of the 1957 musical of the same name, it’s the classical age-old love story of Romeo and Juliet, with a bit of a contemporary touch.
This feature adaptation portrays Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler as Maria and Tony, a teen and a Jet member, coming from different cultural backgrounds but getting intertwined in a secret love affair. The movie also stars David Alvarez, Rita Moreno, Ariana DeBose, and Mike Faist in supporting roles.
Despite facing a delay in its release due to the Covid-19 emergence, it didn’t fall short of any acclamation when it was finally released in the theatres globally in December 2021. In case you missed watching this on the screen or were a bit skeptical to pay for the bomb-priced ticket, do not worry! The movie is finally streaming on the OTT platform making it a convenient and hassle-free way to check it out.
