We have entered the second half of Prime Video’s Reacher Season 2, and we are inching towards its finale, which will come out on January 19. So far, all episodes in Season 2 are bangers. They have received an outstanding response from both critics and viewers. The sophomore entry maintains a rare 100% ‘fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 37 reviews. However, there is one fan theory that can spoil all the fun and excitement in the ongoing season and may ruin its finale along the way.
Among the popular fan theories associated with Reacher Season 2, the one that seems way too obvious shares a connection with David O’Donnell, one of Reacher’s trustworthy guys and a primary member of the 110th Special Investigations Unit. Many fans strongly believe that O’Donnell is dirty. He may have played a significant role in the horrifying death of Major Calvin Franz.
For instance, O’Donnell was already present at Swan’s ransacked apartment when Reacher and Neagley arrived. He told the duo that somebody else was responsible for damaging the apartment. In addition, he was pretty quick to locate both Reacher and Neagley despite being on an ‘unplugged weekend’ with his family.
O’Donnell looks like a changed man who loves his family. However, he could use this setting as a disguise in front of Reacher. We do not know if he is involved in illegal activities or if he is now a greedy SOB who can do anything for money. If any of these scenarios turn out true in the upcoming episodes, then Season 2 may lose all its hype, as turning O’Donnell into a bad guy would be too obvious for the viewers.
