ZEE5 is betting big on its Telugu and Tamil content, with a host of new series gearing up for release on the platform. The latest in the ZEE5 lineup is Telugu web series ‘Maya Bazaar: For Sale’. ZEE5 has just revealed the release date for ‘Maya Bazaar’, which is 14th July, 2023.
The Telugu series is produced by Telugu star Rana Daggubati’s production company, Spirit Media. ‘Maya Bazaar: For Sale’ is the first collaboration between ZEE5 and Rana Daggubati, with both sides hoping it will be a fruitful one.
‘Maya Bazaar’ is directed by Gautami Challagulla, who is making her directorial debut with the series. She’s earlier worked as a writer of shows such as Posh Poris, Social and Mana Mugguri Love Story. ‘Maya Bazaar’ boasts a huge ensemble cast, including Dr. Naresh Vijaya Krishna, Jhansi, Eesha Rebba, Ravi Varma, Hariteja, Raja Chembolu, Sunaina Badam, Harika Vedula, Tarun, Ravi Raj, Aditi Myakal, Meiyang Chang, Navdeep, Vamsidhar Goud, among others.
The story of ‘Maya Bazaar’ is a very interesting one. Scores of upwardly mobile people buy apartments in a posh gated community, with hopes of upping their social status and prestige in society. However, on inaugural day, the community’s brand ambassador, celebrity actor Abhijeet, falls dead from the terrace of the clubhouse of the complex. To top it all, the residents find their hopes shattered when they come to know that their gated building complex is illegal, because the builder bypassed all rules and approvals.
The first poster for ‘Maya Bazaar: For Sale’ is interesting too. It showcases none of the actors from the huge ensemble cast. Instead, featured on the poster is a cute cow named Kausalya, who’s supposedly one of the members of the Maya Bazaar gated community.
