Musicals are one of the most polarizing genres in cinema. Some people love it while some can’t help but hate the very mention of it. But we believe that musicals need more precision in terms of making. If done right then they have a great chance of becoming a masterpiece.
The next bet by Netflix, after Monica O My Darling, is a musical film. The movie was announced back in 2021 but finally, we have a release date and progress.
Netflix India has revealed the release date of the movie with an extremely beautiful poster. But it has some mysteries too. The “Q” in Qala is actually the symbol of females. So there are chances that the movie will present a feminine journey where a musically gifted girl goes through a lot of bumps in chasing a dream which is not even her own. Her mother forces her to do some specific things which ultimately lead her to break from within.
Qala is led by Tripti Dimri who also played the titular role in Netflix’s own Bulbbul. This movie too is produced by Anushka Sharma’s “Clean Slate Filmz”.
Directed by Anvita Dutt, the film also stars Babil Khan, Swastika Mukherjee, Amit Sial, and Samir Kochhar.
The most important information, however, Qala is set to arrive on December 1st.
Behind the success of Qala – a gifted musician, was a daughter who just craved her mother's validation. Come explore her world with us. #Qala streaming on Netflix, December 1st.
