Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi‘s much talked about film ‘Double XL’ has a release date in the theatres! The slice-of-life comedy drama film arrives in theatres on October 14. ‘Double XL’ will go head to head at the box office with Parineeti Chopra’s ‘Code Name Tiranga’ and Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Doctor G’.
The makers of ‘Double XL‘ also revealed a quirky little teaser for their film. The ‘Double XL’ teaser shows both lead characters of the film, played by Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi, make fun of the double standards of society, especially when it comes to plus-sized women. The ‘Double XL’ teaser hints at the humour and satire that awaits viewers when the film lands in theatres.
‘Double XL’ is a film that questions bodyweight stereotypes that have long been plaguing our society, in the most humorous manner. Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi play two plus-size women, one from the heartlands of Uttar Pradesh, and the other from posh New Delhi. They form an unlikely kinship when they realise that both are victims of body-shaming and discrimination in a society that attributes beauty to a woman’s size. Both actresses seem to have put on weight to fit their respective roles.
‘Double XL’ also stars Zaheer Iqbal and Mahat Raghavendra, besides Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi. ‘Double XL’ is directed by Satramm Ramani, and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, Vipul D Shah, Rajesh Bahl & Ashwin Varde, Saqib Saleem, Huma Qureshi & Mudassar Aziz.
