Much awaited upcoming Netflix k-drama ‘Remarriage & Desires’ released its official trailer today. The Netflix series is directed by Kim Jeong-min and stars popular k-drama names like Kim Hee-sun, Lee Hyun-wook, Jung Yoo-jin and Park Hoon. The Netflix original will stream on Netflix worldwide from July 15th,2022. The show was already one of the most awaited and the trailer has piqued the audience interest miles and notches above.
The story follows Seo Hye-seung whose main motive is – revenge against lawyer Jin Yoo-hee, who pushed her husband to the edge of death. She is now is ready to make Jin Yoo-hee pay for everything she endured and everything she lost including the trillion-aire she wants to marry. She sets on her well planned revenge strategy by enrolling herself at ‘Rex’ – a match-making conglomerate. The show apparently is modelled as a satire against business oriented upper class families in South Korea, for whom marriages are mere business ties and the working of match-making business. Remarriage & Desires has three powerful female leads, each one of them strong willed and focused enough to do anything and everything to get their agenda done.
The trailer of Remarriage & Desires throws light on the society where marriage is a business entity ruled by a corporation called ‘Rex’. The trailer throughout gives vibes of blockbuster k-drama series ‘Penthouse’ and perhaps more complicated than that with power, betrayal, competition and revenge at play.
The 8 episode limited Korean series is all set to win over both generic Netflix audience and k-drama fanatics through its limited episode format and anti-capitalist treatment akin to Squid Game and All of Us Are Dead.
