Hugh Jackman is back after a mini-break from his illustrious career and how! We have just seen the trailer of Reminiscence, the latest in Jackman’s kitty and we were like – What the heck, man!
Yes, Westworld’s director Lisa Joy is bringing us yet another Sci-Fi thriller and the trailer has just blown us away. The trailer of Reminiscence felt like Inception meets Mission Impossible meets The Day After Tomorrow. Actually let us break it up a bit for you. The trailer revolves around Jackman’s character Nicolas Bannister who offers specific clients the chance to relive any memory they desire in a near-future Miami flooded by rising seas. Things go haywire when he meets a mysterious young woman named Mae and soon realizes she is not the person who Bannister thinks she is. Before unlocking anything further, he gets unwillingly tangled in a mysterious situation associated with a series of violent crimes and he soon realizes that the matters are far bigger than he anticipated.
Reminiscence marks the feature directorial debut of Lisa Joy. Apart from Hugh Jackman, who was last seen in a prominent role for Bad Education, Rebecca Ferguson as Mae along with Thandiwe Newton, Daniel Wu, and Cliff Curtis will also be seen in the film. Apart from directing the film, Joy has also written the screenplay and co-produced the same alongside Jonathan Nolan, Michael De Luca and Aaron Ryder in association with Kilter Films, Michael De Luca Productions and FilmNation Entertainment. Famed musician Ramin Djawadi is scoring for the film.
Reminiscence is set to be released on 20th August, 2021as well as a month-long simultaneous release on the HBO Max and with this insane trailer, Jackman fans will just wait restlessly to witness their favorite actor back in action in a post-pandemic world.
