Renée Zellweger is ready to come back on our screens with a brand new comedy. News is that the actress has signed up for a brand new comedy which will be based in and around golf. Titled, “The Black Nine” the movie will be directed by Sex and The City’s Michael King. He also is the co-writer for the script that he jointly wrote with Jhoni Marchinko and Krista Smith.
Renée Zellweger will play the role of a pro golfer for this movie. She apparently will also be essaying the role of a wife who gives her dreams and ambitions of becoming the best in the game just so her husband can have the spot. Now, 25 years later when she wakes up one fine day, she gets to know and realises her marriage isn’t the same and everything is crumbling down. With her son off to college and a weird marriage, she gets ready to get back on the course. This time to actually become a pro.
The film is to be produced by Landline Pictures. This is a new label of MRC Film formed by Amy Baer, who earlier was a senior executive at Sony Pictures and CBS Films. The Black Nine will be the first movie to be released by MRC Films after the launch. Michael King will also be producing while; Zellweger and Carmella Casinelli will be executive producers for Big Picture Co., along with Marchinko and Smith.
MRC Films is excited to begin their journey in the industry with none other than the versatile actress Renée Zellweger herself. Michael King has also gone on to say that with the role Zellweger has played in the past, people will definitely have fun watching her play the role of a golfer. The movie though packed with funny punches all around might also bring tears to the eyes as they go along the role of Zellweger. The actress was last seen in 2019 in the biographical movie “Judy” and also the miniseries “What/If”
