In an error of sorts for the platform, the release date of HBO’s much-awaited series ‘The Last Of Us‘ has been revealed early by mistake. Eagle-eyed viewers caught the release date of ‘The Last Of Us’ on the sneak-peek page of the show on the HBO Max app. Apparently, the series will premiere on HBO Max in the USA on January 15, 2023; and on Sky TV in the UK on January 16.
As per sources in the know, the big reveal for the ‘The Last Of Us’ release date was planned for later this week. The early appearance of the release date of the show on the HBO Max app happened by error. The official social media handles of HBO, HBO Max or The Last Of Us are still to acknowledge the early reveal of the release date of ‘The Last Of Us’.
HBO’s ‘The Last Of Us’ is an adaptation of Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic adventure game of the same name. The series stars Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian, Game of Thrones) as Joel, Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones), as Ellie, Gabriel Luna (Agents of Shield) as Joel’s brother Tommy, and Nico Parker (Dumbo), the daughter of actress Thandie Newton, as Joel’s daughter Sarah. Merle Dandridge, Anna Torv, Murray Bartlett, Nick Offerman, Storm Reid, Jeffrey Pierce, Lamar Johnson, form the rest of the cast, among others.
Joel is a smuggler, tasked with escorting the teenage Ellie across a post-apocalyptic United States. ‘The Last Of Us’ series is created by Craig Mazin, the creator and writer of HBO’s acclaimed series, Chernobyl. Season 1 of the show will consist of ten episodes, and will incorporate events from the debut game of the ‘The Last Of Us’ video game series.
The Last Of Us premieres on HBO Max in the USA on January 15. As per our understanding, the show should premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar on January 16, as is the case with most buzzy HBO and HBO Max shows.
