Robert Eggers’ (The Lighthouse, The Witch) big budget outing “The Northman” dropped it’s second official trailer. The trailer of rhe Viking Revenge epic was dropped by Focus Features.
Alexander Skarsgård says “Fate has no mercy” in a bloody dark video snippet. The previous trailer was also brilliantly cut with blood, violence, gore and epic action sprinkled all over. This trailer is also no different. Whatever visuals have been out from the film so far promises a gothic revenge from the horror master Eggers.
Robert Eggers (The Lighthouse, The Witch) latest film hits the movies on April 22 worldwide. Skarsgård is said to be playing a Viking warrior Prince named Amleth who is on a quest to avenge his father’s death. His father was brutally murdered by his uncle and he aims to ascend the throne. Ahem Ahem..The Lion King anyone? The film boasts of a multi-star cast featuring Nicole Kidman, Ethan Hawke, Claes Bang and Björk, along with Eggers regulars Willem Dafoe and Anya Taylor-Joy.
Eggers penned the script with Sjón. The Icelandic author had previously co-written “The Lamb” – Iceland’s 2022 Oscar entry. New Regency is the principle production banner and the film is set in Ireland. The film is already at 88% on Rotten Tomatoes and has attained favourable reviews so far from the premieres. Stay tuned.
