Richie Mehta, well known for her works like Netflix’s ‘Delhi Crime’ and Prime Video’s ‘Poacher’, is executive producing a new film ‘Boy From Andaman’ and for this latest project of hers she is collaborating with some big names.
These include Janice Chua for Imagine Entertainment, the banner behind Luca Guadagnino’s Julia Roberts starrer thriller drama ‘After The Hunt’; and Harman Baweja led Baweja Studios whose upcoming projects include ‘Ikhwan: From Militant to Soldier’ and ‘Captain India’ starring Kartik Aaryan. They will produce alongside along with Los Angeles-based Rick Ambros, Vancouver-based Bhhaskar De and Mumbai-based Sharmila Pinheiro.
‘Boy From Andaman’ follows the story of Mohan, a worker in Mumbai Post Office department who discovers a letter to “God” from a boy from Andaman Islands. He starts communicating through letter with this boy and over time they develop a special bond of friendship and Mohan decides to pay a visit to the boy.
According to producers, ‘Boy From Andaman “delves into the profound themes of faith as experienced by two characters navigating vastly different realities.”
‘Boy From Andaman’ is the first directorial venture of Parinaz Jal who has previously assisted Richie Mehta on ‘Delhi Crimes’ and ‘Poacher’. The film is based on an original idea from Manu Chopra and the script is penned by Chopra and Jal. Stay tuned to binged.com for further updates.
