“War is coming to Middle-Earth.” The new trailer for Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 is out now, and it teases the moments that led to the epic Siege of Eregion, a deadly battle between the Elves of Eregion and Sauron’s dark army during the Second Age, marking the commencement of the War of the Elves and Sauron. Apart from Elves and Orcs, this epic war will also feature Dwarves and Humans.
Charlie Vickers’ Sauron (in the Annatar form) earns a large portion of screen time in the latest trailer. Annatar’s poisonous influence on Celebrimbor is clearly visible in the new clip. Celebrimbor, a skilled Elven smith and descendant of Fëanor, was captivated by Annatar’s wisdom and expertise. Sauron subtly influenced Celebrimbor and the other Elven smiths, guiding them towards the creation of Rings of Power.
We also see an unlikely alliance between Adar and Galadriel as they both look to eradicate the Dark Lord. During the trailer’s final moments, we see the latter locking swords with Sauron himself.
Rings of Power Season 2 will focus on the rise of the Dark Lord, Sauron, and the events leading to the Siege of Eregion. It will also show how Sauron secretly forged the One Ring in the fires of Mount Doom to assert his dominance over other ring-bearers. Season 2 will premiere on Prime Video on August 29.
