The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 will have a new character who could marry Isildur, as per IGN. Showrunners J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay recently announced the addition of Tom Bombadil (played by Rory Kinnear) into Season 2. Bombadil is a fan-favourite character from J. R. R. Tolkien’s novels. After Bombadil, the fans will witness Estrid in the next season.
New Season 2 images dropped by IGN show Estrid (played by Nia Towle), along with Arondir (Ismael Cruz Cordova) and Isildur (Maxim Baldry). As per the popular entertainment platform, Isildur will immediately trust Estrid and will fall in love with her. Towle is best known for starring in Netflix’s Persuasion.

Season 1 ended with drastic implications. Numenorians and Southlanders endured devastating losses. We also witnessed the rise of Mordor, thanks to Charlie Vickers’ Sauron.
Estrid will meet Isildur and Arondir in the beginning of Season 2. Isildur will immediately fall for her. However, Arondir believes that Estrid is hiding something, stopping him from trusting her completely. The trio will travel together with the rest of the Southlanders to go to Pelargir, distancing themselves away from Mordor.
According to IGN, Estrid could become Isildur’s wife in Rings of Power Season 2. Tolkien’s works have never mentioned his wife’s name, making Estrid an intriguing addition to the show. However, the author’s lore mentions Elendur as Isildur’s first son. We could see Estrid giving birth to Elendur in future seasons.
