Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s Bollywood blockbuster movie ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani’ is easily the most awaited movie on streaming platforms currently. Digital viewers are eagerly waiting for the romantic and social drama to begin streaming on regular subscription-based OTT.
Well, we have some good news for you, coz Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani is finally streaming on regular OTT and not on rent anymore. The movie began streaming on Prime Video India last night at 12 midnight, for all Prime Video subscribers.
For those who don’t know, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani was first made available for streaming on the Prime Video Rental Store on 8th September, but on the pay-per-view basis, aka PVOD basis. The rental price was quite steep – ₹349 on the Rental Store. Most people preferred to wait for the regular OTT release date for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani, rather than pay such a hefty price to watch the film.
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani premiered in theatres on 28th July, 2023. Now the mandatory 8 weeks exclusive theatrical window is up, and so Prime Video has switched it from the Rental Store to regular streaming.
Interestingly, Prime Video released RARKPK on regular streaming with no prior notice or marketing at all. Maybe it hoped to milk the movie for rent for as long as it could. Prior notice about the OTT release date for RARKPK would definitely have jinxed that.
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles, along with Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Dharmendra, Tota Roy Choudhary, Churni Ganguly and Namit Das in pivotal roles. The film is directed by Karan Johar and marks his return to direction after a hiatus of seven years. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani is written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy, with music by Pritam.
