Rohit Shetty’s period comedy film ‘Cirkus’ released in theatres on 23rd December 2022. We had previously informed our readers that the film would later start streaming on the Netflix OTT platform. And now, the precise release date of ‘Cirkus’ on Netflix has been revealed. ‘Cirkus’ is all set for its OTT premiere on Netflix on 17th February.
‘Cirkus’ features Ranveer Singh in a double role and its basic plotline is based on William Shakespeare’s famous play ‘The Comedy of Errors’. The film’s story follows two sets of identical twins who are separated at birth and when they meet after many years, it leads to a hilarious turn of chaotic and confounding events. It also features Varun Sharma (also in a double role), Pooja Hegde, and Jacqueline Fernandes.
After its theatrical release, ‘Cirkus’ became a box office disaster and was critically panned by critics and didn’t get good feedback from many viewers as well. The film has received a critics score of 0% on reviews aggregation portal Rotten Tomatoes based on 11 reviews. On IMDb, the film has still got a decent user rating of 6.5/10.
So, now, it would be interesting to see that, after its disappointing theatrical run, whether ‘Cirkus’ will find takers on the Netflix OTT platform or not. After ‘Cirkus’, Rohit Shetty is all geared up for the eagerly anticipated Amazon Prime Video web series ‘Indian Police Force’ starring Sidharth Malhotra, Vivek Oberoi and Shilpa Shetty. Another of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe projects is the Singham sequel titled ‘Singham Again’. We have a gut feeling that Rohit Shetty will make a grand comeback and regain his form with these two upcoming projects.
