Tamil Cinema is back to Romantic films yet again. After Thiruchitrambalam’s exceptional run at the theatres, its as if the genre found a new leaf. Tamil language romantic drama ‘Nitham Oru Vaanam’ (translated as ‘A Sky of Eternity’) released at the theatres today to positive reviews. Binged has learnt about the streaming rights of the film. The film is expected to stream on Netflix India as the streaming giant is the digital partner of the film.
The film follows an introverted young man with OCD, who is dejected after his fiancé leaves him. He eventually learns to find happiness and positivity in life from two couples whose stories he reads about. This gentle and breezy travel film has been getting good reviews and the leading man Ashok Selvan is also heaping praises.
Nitham Oru Vaanam is written and directed by Ra. Karthik in his directorial debut.The film stars Ashok Selvan, Ritu Varma, Aparna Balamurali and Shivathmika Rajashekar in major roles. Gopi Sundar composed the film’s music.The film was announced in January 2017 with Dulquer Salmaan in the lead as ‘Vaan’. The project however fell through. It eventually underwent a change of cast, and was relaunched in June 2021 with the title being changed to ‘Nitham Oru Vaanam’, from Vaan. Ashok Selvan replaced Dulquer in the lead role, while actresses Ritu Varma, Aparna Balamurali and Shivathmika Rajashekar were cast in the leading female roles. Stay tuned for more updates.
