RRR Beats Avatar-2, EEAAO At Rotten Tomatoes Golden Tomato Awards

By Binged Bureau - Jan 31, 2023 @ 01:01 pm

Ever since its theatrical release and subsequent streaming release on the Netflix OTT platform, S.S. Rajamouli’s action extravaganza ‘RRR’ has garnered unprecedented critical and commercial acclaim across the globe. Recently, the film also received an Oscar nomination for the hyper energetic Naatu Naatu song. The film’s admiration is to such an extent that even the celebrated Hollywood filmmaker James Cameron had all good things to say about the movie. And it looks like the appreciation and accolades for ‘RRR’ are not going to end anytime soon.

‘RRR’ has just been named amongst the top five fan favourite movies of the year 2022 on reviews aggregation portal Rotten Tomatoes. And it’s not just in the top five but ‘RRR’ has also become the Golden Tomato award winner as per a recent poll conducted by the website.

And in doing that, ‘RRR’ has beaten Hollywood biggies namely Tom Cruise’s aerial action-adventure flick ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ (Rank 2), multiverse actioner ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ (Rank 3), DC superhero movie ‘The Batman’ (Rank 4) and James Cameron’s blockbuster ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ (Rank 5).

Helmed by S.S Rajamouli, the period action movie ‘RRR’ features Ram Charan and Jr.NTR in the lead roles and Ajay Devgn, and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles. The film is a fictional tale set in the 1920s that revolves around two legendary Indian revolutionaries namely Alluri Sitarama Raju (played by Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (played by Jr. NTR).

‘RRR’ had grossed over a whopping Rs.1200 crore at the box office globally. The movie is currently streaming on Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, and Zee5 OTT platforms in India. Now, all eyes will be on the Academy Award ceremony on 12th March where it will be revealed whether RRR’s Naatu Naatu will win the ‘Best Original Song’ Oscar or not. Fingers crossed!
