You must be aware that RRR has been trending on Netflix’s Top 10 films ever since it was released on the platform i.e. 20th May. It was the most watched non-English film on the platform for three weeks in a row and never left trending on the list for 14 weeks.
It trended so much that no other film has this record of trending for 14 weeks in a row. It is indeed a great record that would most probably take a significant time to be broken.
The only sad thing about the trend must be the non-inclusion of the film in the list of most popular films.
Netflix selects 10 movies that got maximum views in the first 28 days of their release to put them on the list. Unfortunately, the watch hours of the film were not enough to be listed in the top 10 most popular films. But the SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus made sure to kill every other record they could.
But after 14 weeks, RRR is finally out of the weekly top 10 most watched non-English films. Although the German film “Blood Red Sky” has been a part of the list for 15 weeks, it was inconsistent. It suddenly popped up in the list after about a year of its release.
So RRR has been indeed majestic on Netflix and has emerged as the face of Indian cinema in 2022.
