Runway 34 Trailer Promises a Riveting Survival & Investigative Drama

Last week, Ajay Devgn had revealed a gripping teaser for his upcoming directorial comeback film titled ‘Runway 34’ and which was somewhat reminiscent of Robert Zemeckis’ slick Hollywood film ‘Flight’ starring veteran actor Denzel Washington.

‘Runway 34’ is the next acting project for Ajay Devgn after ‘Rudra: The Edge of Darkness’ where he will be sharing screen space with Amitabh Bachchan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Boman Irani. And as promised earlier, the film’s official trailer has been launched by the intense actor.

The trailer of ‘Runway 34’, at the outset, reveals that Ajay Devgn’s character is a reputed pilot but does not seem to be amongst the rule followers. One still featuring Ajay Devgn particularly reinstates our conjecture regarding the film’s basic premise being rather reminiscent of ‘Flight’. In the subsequent reels, Amitabh Bachchan is seen grilling the protagonist pilot following an investigation pertaining to the aircraft’s mishap.

‘Runway 34’, which was earlier titled ‘Mayday’, is being touted as a high-octane, edge-of-the-seat thriller drama with a runtime of about 140 minutes. Although the precise plot details are being kept under the wraps, the film’s story purportedly revolves around the workings of the aviation industry and is said to be inspired by a real-life event that occurred in India in the year 2015.

Ajay Devgn will be essaying the lead role of a pilot with Rakul Preet Singh as the co-pilot in ‘Runway 34’. And from the film’s tagline “The truth is hidden 35,500 feet above the ground” and its posters and teaser, it seems that legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan will be essaying the role of a government investigative officer.

‘Runway 34’ would be the third film for which Ajay Devgn has donned the director’s hat. Previously, the ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ actor went both behind and in front of the camera for the romantic drama ‘U Me Aur Hum’, and the action flick ‘Shivaay’. ‘Runway 34’ is scheduled for a theatrical release on 29th April 2022.
